Estill Voice Training Systems
Vocal Technique Explained
Vocal Coaching / Singing teaching varies enormously from teacher to teacher, mainly because a lot of it is done by analogies.
In other words you imagine you are doing something in order to create a specific sound. The problem with this is that while this may work brilliantly with one student whom you may be on the same wavelength as, another student may think you are talking complete nonsense!
After years of Classical training with a variety of singing teachers some great some not so great! I stumbled across an amazing way of singing called The Estill Method which suddenly made everything clear to me in my own singing and so much so that I developed a real interest in teaching and sharing these ‘secrets’ with my students!
This technique is based on understanding how the vocal mechanisms work, so this knowledge equips you for any situation and removes the fear of the unknown when you are performing. No more of the fear of not knowing how your voice is going to work. ‘Estill’ works for any style of singing through pop to rock, R&B ,country music theatre, classical etc,so this is why someone like myself came to teach pop even though I have been classically trained.
My knowledge of this method is thanks to the great knowledge of several Estill experts namely Jenny Dakin, Paul Farrington, Kieren Lock and Anne-Marie Speed. Anne Marie's web site can be found here. You can also click on the link to EVTS to find out more or go to this link
